Dosage :

Amlodipine is usually taken once daily.

Usual adult dose for high blood pressure:

The initial dose is 5 mg orally once a day.
Maximum daily dose is 10 mg.

Usual adult dose for coronary artery disease (chest pain)

Initial dose is adjusted according to patient response.

Maintenance dose is 5 to 10 mg orally once a day.

Maximum daily dose is 10 mg.

For the treatment of chest pain it is used alone or in combination of other antianginal drugs.
